I have resolved stuff because I am all 2013 that way.
Here’s a few of my resolutions for 2013
- Less refined sugar in my diet. I feel I am now well-positioned for this step as my diet over the last 2-3 weeks has been primarily sugar-based. Protein…proootein…..
- Have the first sequel to Lord Ruin on sale by June 30th
- Read more books by authors I know I’ll love but haven’t yet read.
- Less complaining about certain things and more actually doing something to remove the things I complain about.
- Invite some bloggers whose work I adore to guest blog here.
- More polls. They’re like cowbells. We just need more.
- When I read a really crappy eBook, I will return it THEN I will write scornful things about it.
- Ponder the role of zombies in literature.
- Write more.
- Write more risky stuff.
What am I missing? What are some of your resolutions?
Oh Hey! It’s the first poll of the New Year

Other. Show that darling man what 200 years have done for women and make him desperate to follow me back to the 21st century. Oh yeah.
Oh. Yes. I like your answer, Bess!
Other. Interview him for enhancing my understanding of the Regency rake and improving my writing. Hey, I’m married.
I don’t go in much for New Year’s resolutions. I need to reassess and replan all the time. I do, however, resolve to finish the balloonist story, which I very much fear people are tired of hearing about.
Looking forward to reading Lord Ruin and Elena’s balloonist story. Elena – the best things come to those who wait — how else are we to achieve the Height of Desire! 😉
Resolving to write every day, even if exhausted from work and the dishes are piling up. And to read whatever and whenever I feel the need to. Oh…and I guess decreasing chocolate/sugar/butter intake and adding in exercise is a good standby resolution. I have to attend a wedding in June so that will help with motivation…ugh, relatives.
Find the necessary. I’m an anxious kind of traveler.
As for resolutions, I don’t ordinarily make them, but I do firmly resolve to get my hands on the Lord Ruin sequel as soon as it’s available.
Aw, thanks! Also, agree about finding the necessary.
I was forced to vote for the coffee option. I know better than to resolve to give up caffeine. I’m with you on exorcising demon sugar. I look forward to your sequel in June. You’ve put it in writing, in public.
Elena, I can’t wait for your balloonist story either!
I resolve to cut down on the sugar too. I’ve been eating a mostly cookie based diet lately. And to travel more.
I understand returning troops brought a particularly virulent strain of vd home with them in 1815, so I’d be all about those French letters….then boogie!
Other: How the f*** do you pronounce that, your grace?
Lenore: Oh. Yes. True. The French Disease (if you’re English) The English disease if you’re French, who would have used English caps. Heh.
Janet. I’m dying here. You are hilarious.
Hey, I see I’m not the only one who likes the “let’s boogie” option. *g*
My new years resolutions are pretty simple – finish up my schooling, try to find a decent job, and have fun with guest reviewing at a cool site. 2012 was a bummer year, so it’s my duty to make 2013 a better one.
I am such a coward. I, too, would as for the directions to the necessary and his study asking him to meet him in his study. You had better believe I would have a stiff shot of brandy before trying to figure out what comes next. With my luck, I’d be transported back home before anything exciting happened.
This year a one word resolution: organize. My whole life needs it.
I think I’d keep pushing buttons. Frantically. I adore the man and all, but who can live without chocolate candy, flush toilets and Facebook? Not me.
*other* The eight-pack is all very well but everything depends on his nose [which must be patrician] and his voice [which has to be like brown velvet].
Have realised from the comments above that “boogie” may mean something other than “dancing”, in the USA…
Please may I have hot chocolate, rather than coffee?
